But where to start? My first 6 tips

Zero waste, a current trend that everyone would like to adopt, but where to start?
In this article, I propose a short list of simple practices that can be put in place to adopt a more responsible behaviour.

1. No more packaging!
The first thing you need to do to move to Zero Waste is to stop buying packaged food. To do this, let's go to the bulk shelves. We therefore invest in glass jars, which are reusable and more environmentally friendly, or in small cloth bags (see article 2) that we take with us before going shopping.
Today, there is a development of bulk shelves, however, if bulk is not possible, we prefer recycling packaging such as cardboard and avoid overpackaging.

2. Use durable containers for food
To store and preserve your food, choose glass jars (ideal for all dry foods), wooden or metal cans. This small gesture can be reused over and over again and is environmentally friendly, reducing waste considerably but also preserving it better!

3. Coffee yes, but in 0 waste if possible.
One of the most common types of waste in the city is, of course, disposable coffee cups, most of which are made of plastic. So you opt for your own reusable cup that you fill directly on the spot and that can sometimes even save you money. A gesture that will be good for the planet and for your wallet.

4. Farewell to bottled water
The most logical way to avoid bottle waste is to drink tap water whenever possible. However, sometimes tap water may not taste or taste very good. But there are many solutions to avoid bottled water all the same (decanter filter, American fridge...).
In the same idea, we prefer water bottles to small plastic bottles.
In addition to being ecological, these alternatives allow a better quality of water (less plastic contained inside).

5. Cook, cook and cook
One of the champions of waste is of course all prepared dishes so we try to avoid them as much as possible! In addition to being tastier, homemade dishes allow you to know what you're putting in them and avoid additives. We also take care to use seasonal products and if possible local products, it's even better! Why not make your own compotes for example?

6. A last word of order: RECYCLING

Nowadays, almost everything can be recycled, from books to cardboard packaging to glass bottles.
We also think of composting, which allows you to make natural waste from the soil that will be useful in gardening.
So before throwing away, just one question to ask yourself: "Can I recycle it?"

WHAT CAN I HOLD?

Tips to start with zero waste, there are hundreds of them and I'm sure that when reading this article you said to yourself "Oh but I could do that too" and so much the better! That's the purpose of an article like this one: to help you get your foot in the door.
We will develop these tips in other articles but for today, I'll let you already put all these little tips in place and especially share with me in commentary your own tips for a zero waste life (or almost).
Anyone can do it, so why not you?
